come smiling." on the second part of the song)
WOLF CREEK PASS
Tom Teegarden,
October 1983 A version of this song was sung by Tom and
his friends at Crow Fair, Crow Agency, Montana in 1976.
He completed the present arrangement of the song driving
over the Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado with Ellsworth Brown,
Jr. in October, 1983.
MOVING SONG
Pat Bad Hand,
March 1984 While helping Tom Teegarden move, Pat was moved
by this song that came to him. Hence the title.
BUBBLE GUM SONG
Rearranged by
Howard Bad Hand, March 1972 Several arrangements of this
song circulated the Powwow circuit circa early 1970's.
This arrangement was completed for shawl dancers in March
1972. Because several shawl dancers were seen frantically
chewing bubble gum while competing to this song, it was
named after them.

JOHN EMHOOLAS'S HONORING SONG
Rearrangement
with words added by Howard and Pat Bad Hand, March 1983).
In February 1983, Mr. John Emhoolah approached Howard
to ask that he put honor words to this song. Being the
head dancer for the Denver March Powwow 1983, he wanted
the song completed for the occasion to honor himself and
his friends, the Lakota people, and the Creator.
Tunkasila wamanyanka yo!
Lakota wan kola wayi nan
lyuskinya ohan waci wahiye.
Wawokiya wau welo.
Grandfather Creator, look at me!
I have befriended the Lakota and
Joyfully I come to dance among them.
I come to give my help.

Bad Hand, May 1985). While driving to Horse Creek Community
near White River, South Dakota, in May 1985 to attend
and sing for their 8th grade graduation, this melody was
mutually sun by Pat, Al, and Howard Bad Hand. Later the
same day, near South Dakota Highway 73 junction on the
way to Kyle, South Dakota for a powwow, the words and
the melody came together.
Ciksuyaye! Ciksuyaye!
Eyaa waci wau welo.
Niyeca wacinyanka wacin wau welo
I remember you! I remember you!
Saying this, I dance toward you.
It's you I want to see as I come forward.
